Accessories and Figurines

This year we intend to launch a series of figurines and accessories, pits, pit crew, pit tractors, spare tyres and

wheels, tool chests, oil drums and assorted trackside equipment along with the Dunlop bridge from Le Mans

for dioramas.

Silver Arrows and Opel rocket cars

In 2007 we made a series of 1930s Silver Arrows racing cars for Mercedes-Benz and now we are bringing out

variants on these cars along with some record cars from the same period between the two World Wars. Two

are Mercedes and three are a series of extraordinary rocket cars from Opel.

In 1928 a series of Opel experimental solid fuel rocket cars were run in Germany. Two were equiped with wings

designed to keep the cars on the ground. The last, “RAK.3” ran on rails until a mistimed firing of the rocket

sequence, caused a derailment which killed the cat put in the driver's seat instead of a human.

These cars never set any records but were a precursor to cars such as the Wingfoot Express of 1964 and the

Blue Flame which established a world Land Speed Record of 630mph in 1970.

Another unsuccessful record car was Mercedes T80. This 6 wheeled monster designed to take the absolute

world Land Speed Record was powered by a 44.5L, 3000 H.P. V3. With a projected speed of around

650-750KPH it would have been a LSR contender, but the advent of the 2nd World War kept the project secret

until the British army discovered the car. As it was untested we shall never know whether it would have competed

successfully against Easton's Thunderbolt and Cobb's beautiful Railton each of which were multiple holders of

the LSR.

These two Mercedes are currently available, everything else will be coming out later this year. So check the

website from time to time and subscribe to our Newsletter.
